Are there DVI monitor that can be hunged at the wall?
I fear that most of the current monitor have ventilation holes or dvi connectors on the back, so one can't hang them at the wall.

many lcd feature an horizontal DVI socket so, even with vesa adapters, you have to leave 5 or more centimeters from the wall. This is not nice
Anyway, can someone suggest something less expensive than an Apple display?

Most of the LCDs do have VESA compatible holes, but you have to check on each one individually.

I have an older model 15" Samsung 152T LCD. It has excellent display quality and also looks quite nice I think. It is silver but unfortunately plastic, not aluminum. I do think it will match my PB quite well however.
It's also nice because it has dual inputs: 1 VGA and 1 DVI so you can hook two computers to it at once. Anyhow the important thing is that it can mount to the wall (all the necessary hardware is in the box) and sits very close to the wall because the video connectors are attached vertically if you hang it from the wall. I had it wall mounted myself for a year and will do so again in my new place, the surface of the screen is about 2" from the wall face when mounted. (Here's a pic of my previous setup so you can see how it looks: http://www.techimo.com/photo/showpho...cat/all/page/1 )
I don't know if you can get it anymore, but they do have updated versions such as a 17" widescreen monitor (I think it is the 172W?) or also a sleeker 17" 172X but I heard the display quality was poor on that one.
Anyways hope this helps good luck!

and PS it does have VESA compatible holes so you can use your own mount if you have a better one

I'm gazing into the Samsung 172X as I type this. It has VESA mounting, though I just have it on my desk. I must respectfully disagree with aspersions cast on its display quality, which, at least in DVI mode with my Powerbook, is bright, clear and sharp. See
this article.

Every single DVI LCD I have seen that has VESA mounting holes has the inputs mounted such that they need zero wall clearance. Typically, the cables point down.
You have tons of options. Some LCDs even come with wall hanging holes already there.
