I have an HP cp1700 printer which says that the yellow, magenta, and cyan ink cartridges have all expired. I know that the cartridges are all in good condition and all have over half the ink left in them. I don't want to waste all the money to buy new ones when these should work perfectly. In fact, given that these cartridges are separate from the print heads, I should be able to just refill them and keep using the same cartridges (yes, after enough use they will wear out but they should last a lot longer than this).
The problem is that HP does not see it my way; the printer will not let me print with expired cartridges. I need to find out some way to make the printer think that the cartridges are no longer expired. I have looked through several sets of refill kit instructions but none of them told me how I could reset the chip on the ink cartridge. Does anyone here have any idea how I could do this?
