Ok I tried searching everywhere for this, I have run out of ideas and haven't found anything. So here's the deal:

I have a 3G 15GB iPod, when I hook it up via FW the drive in the iPod keeps resetting (like just the hard drive not the actual iPod). This causes iTunes to lock and Finder to lock until I pull the cable on it. Via USB works perfectly. Now in my troubleshooting I have restored the iPod, and that did nothing, ran the diagnostic tests on the FW controller and its fine. Tried swapping the cables and nothing changed. Now this is where it gets really interesting. If I take the iPod to my roommates 12" PB and dualie 2.5Ghz G5 it works perfectly via FW. Then I tried her 3G 20GB iPod on my machine and it works also.

So what for the love of God and all that is holy do I need to do to get MY iPod to work on MY 15" PB.

Thanks!

Well unfortunately there are no near by Apple stores and the iPod is just a month out of warranty, the PB is perfectly in warranty.

Sigh it's so damn weird...
