I have a canon mini dv camera camcorder. It got a little salt water and sand in it. I wanted to take it apart and dry it but the sucker is a freak'n locked box.

It will not recieve any power at all, no light no nothing.

I took out all of the screws but it will still not open , and prying it open in the wrong places is not the answer, there has to be a way to open it properly and where I can see it's insides..

Canon, optura 20

you are right they are tough buggers to get open. Basically there are a bunch of small clips all the way around the case. The bigger problem though is the fact that salt water got in the camera. It is very bad to have seawater in the camera and your best bet is probally to have it serviced at a shop since more than likely there is a power block or board replacement that will have to happen. Is the camera with out power using both battery and teh AC adapter??

Drop a buck and take it to the shop.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Not that we haven't convinced you to take it to the shop already, the longer the salt water is in there, the worse things are going to get. It needs it's guts cleaned ASAP.
