I need some help. I put more songs on iTunes than my 15GB iPod would hold. So, it created a separate playlist on iTunes of the songs that it could load on the iPod, I guess leaving anything else out.

Fine, but there were some things not there that I wanted and it also meant that it removed my other playlists from the iPod and only listed that one, which stinks. So I deactivated a bunch of songs I don't want to listen to, and deleted the big playlist, and plugged it in to re-update the iPod, thinking it would do what it always did before--update iPod with whatever is on my iTunes.

But now it won't update, and I don't know what I can do to fix it. The error reads as follow:
"The iPod cannot be updated because one or more of the iTunes playlists selected to update no longer exists."

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this? Thanks.

Can't you just re-select whatever playlist it is you want it to use?

You might consider using manual updating, which will allow you to make as many playlists as you like on the iPod and only includes songs that you specifically drag to the iPod.

You told the iPod to only update the big playlist, then you deleted it, so when the iPod is plugged in it can't find what it is supposed to be updating.

Click the iPod Options button (or right-click the iPod) in iTunes and re-select the playlists you want the iPod to update.
