I have a G4 (Mirrored Driver Doors) single processor 1.25 GHz box.

It has the stock ATI Radeon 9600 in the AGP slot.
I also have an ATI Radeon Mac Edition with 32 MB RAM.

Today I added a ATI Radeon 9200 PCI. Now, regardless of driver versions, PCI slots used, etc. the box crashes late in boot as it's loading the Radeon drivers (in text mode boot there's some dumpage containing an IOGraphics key of some sort). It's panicing in a routine called check_identity or similar. I get the same results when using an ATI Rage Orion. :-(

For the time being I've removed from the Radeon and the Rage Orion, but I'm pretty disappointed. I had expected to be able to drive five displays, but with the 9600 and the 9200, the limit is four. Any suggestions or insights into how to remedy this? Again, I want to emphasize that the Radeon board worked prior to the installation of the Radeon 9200. I tried changing which slots the boards were in, thinking maybe it was a probing order issue, but that didn't help.

Does anyone know if two Radeon 9200s would work? I've never had problems with multiple (up to 3) ATI cards in the same box in the past...

Thanks

I've heard of someone using dual 9200s in a G5 to get six displays working. Can you download the recent Radeon ROM update and try again?
