My cousin and I both have new 20 GB 4G iPods. One of us happened to notice one was heavier than the other. Using the highly sophisticated method of shuffling iPods behind your back and handing them to each other, we can always pick the heavier one. What's going on?

Maybe there is more music in one !

Surely tracks must weight something?

Of course you could just put them on some scales and check.

Haha, the heavier one actually has more music.

Next time he's around we'll weight them.

naw, the heavier one is actually the 5g iPod prototype, which can not only do the things the 4g can, but it also has a little printer inside it... a gps.. a cellphone, and a tape dispenser (definetly superior tape too).

and you think im kidding...
yep.

Yeah, the empty space is all 0s whereas the music is 1s and 0s.
1s weigh about 30% more than 0s, 35% on a Tuesday.

Don't forget that rock music has more notes than other types of music so that the encoding process takes up more space, resulting in larger files which take up the extra space and add weight.

My iPod has about 2100 songs on it....all heavy metal. I can hardly lift it.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Have you ever tried putting them on a diet? No heavy USB 2.0, only nice and slim firewire?

It is because of all of the rock and heavy metal music you have on there. Try using pop music instead. It should make your iPod a lot lighter.

Take the CIA's tracking device out of the heavier iPod and replace your Tin-Foil hat ASAP.
