hi. i'm having ipod headaches.....any help would be much appreciated.

using most recent itunes, and most recent ipod software on osx 10.2.6....on a powerbook G4, titanium.

problem:

my ipod won't update. it starts loading songs at a fast rate, slows down, then stops all together. it sometimes freezes itunes. it doesn't seem to be because of any particular file because the freeze happens at different times.....in different places/music files. but what do i know...

what i tried doing:

restoring ipod - doesn't help.
formatting ipod drive, restoring software - doesn't help.
creating new user account and testing ipod from there - doesn't help

these are all things applecare has instructed me to do, but to no avail.

do i have corrupted files? can anyone offer any other suggestions? i know the last resort is to erase all my music files and start again, but with 30 gigs, that's alot of work. can it be my firewire on the laptop? the connection wire?

i'm so lost.

thanks in advanced.
daniel.

Do you have anything else plugged into your computer (iSight, firewire hard disc, etc)?

thanks for the reply.

nothing else is attached - only the ipod...directly into the laptop.

Well, ideally you should try using the iPod with another computer or use another ipod with your computer to see if one or the other is the problem.

I'm sure they would try anyway. If you have an Apple store close by, that would be a good option.
