Just received my Apple bluetooth mouse but it does not hold its click when you pick it up to reposition the mouse on the mouse mat! I assume they are supposed to function the same as the Pro mouse in that when you hold onto the tabs at either side to pick up the mouse while maintaining the click the selection/drag is maintained.
Is this a known flaw with the woreless mouse or is it a production problem that will be fixed if I request a new mouse. As is it is more or less useless!

mine works fine with the click, press the tabs, and lift thing.
maybe your tabs are broken?

the tabs themselves don't do anything. they're just stationary, so if you put your thumb and middle finger on them you can lift the mouse while holding the click... with your index finger.

Always worked fine for me, though the tabs are way stiffer then they are on an Apple Pro Mouse.
You could also try reducing the click tension. It's that little "plus/minus' switch at the top under the battery cover.
You obviously want the switch set at "minus".

I have the same problem, you can make it work, but you have to hold the mouse diferently.
I raised this ages ago when I first got the mouse.
It could be related to the weight of the mouse, a change in design, etc.
It does not work as well as the Pro Mouse as far as picking up the mouse while clicked. I when back to the wire mouse in the end for three reasons.
1. Although I could get the click / pick up tabs to work it was a real pain to do so.
2. The mouse is quite a bit heavier and on going back to the wired mouse for a quick test, I found I prefered the lighter feel.
3. The material on the base of the mouse that makes it slip over the surface you are using it on, does not give as smooth a feel on the Wireless mouse, to be honest even though I cleaned it very carefully, it felt and sound rough on the mouse mat surface.
