Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone here knows a way to expand range of a Powerbook AL's Airport Extreme range with add on products (antennas etc.). Also, does anyone know if the Airport Express can use the add on antennas that suposedly add hundreds of yards of extra distance to it's range.

Also, name all the free or really cheap wireless hotspots you can think of. I'll start by naming Panara Bread, free WiFi, plus I've seen a very large number of Mac users there.

The airport express doesn't have a spot to add or change antennas so thats not really an option. Plugging it into an extension cord and getting it away from a concrete wall might help though, you could hang it from the ceiling but that might not be convenient if you use it for airtunes or printer sharing.
The other option is to buy a range extender that can stand alone. I think linksys makes one but I don't know much about it.
