If I want to use the dock only for connecting my iPod to my stereo, but the dock is NOT connected to my Mac, is there still a way to charge the iPod ?

Is aspecial adapter necessary ?
Anyone knowing a good source ?

Thanks,

Excuse my ignorance, I don't have an iPod YET.
And there is no description of the charger whatsoever on the Apple site.

I didn't know that the charger comes with a FireWire connector that connects to the dock as well as directly to the iPod.

Well, if that's the case, everything's great !

I'm gonna go for the 40 GB.

I was looking at the Costco deal:

40 GB
dock
$ 15 iTMS certificate
leather carry case

$ 399

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...pnav=&cat=

Sounds like a deal to me.
Anyone has any comments regarding the Costco deal ?

Yeah, pick it up at the store:
Standard shipping is via UPS Ground. The estimated delivery time will be approximately 15 - 20 business days from the time of order.

Thanks, that's what I figured, too.
The question is if they are REALLY available.
I could see them being out of stock pretty soon...

We'll see.
