I need to get extra strage for my computer and need a good one with Firewire. i was thinking LaCie, but am not sure if it is firewire. What is the best hard drive to get? I am a wedding photographer and need it for my images to be loaded. I have two maxtors which I am not too happy with.

Any suggestions?

You haven't mentioned whether you need a portable or (larger) desktop size, but all Lacie's on this page (desktop) or this page (portable) are both firewire and Mac compatible.

I typically "roll my own" FW drives (buying external cases and drives separately), but most, I believe, have had good experiences with Lacie on these boards.

Perform a search on "Lacie" in the search box.

Yeah, I second buying your own case and HD. Its a simple process. Plus cheaper.

not that its needed but here's another vote for making your own external fw hard drive. I made myself two and have never had a problem with either.

LaCie is firewired plus USB 2.0 and that's what I'm gonna get too. Price from applestore is $219 for the 250GB model, but certainly look around another 3rd party reseller or eBay, as they might have better deal.
