hi all:

just got my first phone: a SE K700 and am not happy with any of the ringtones (on it, or that i’ve found on the web)

they all sound like something from a japanese pachinko parlor and cost too much

Q: is there an .app that’ll convert wavs or mp3s to polyphonic ringtones or can someone point me to where i can get ringtones (for free?) that aren’t from hip-hop artists or cartoons?

No, no consumer-level programs can "interpret" music like that and convert it to MIDI.

But why don't you just send the WAV or MP3 to your phone? The K700i can play them and use them as ringtones.

This reminds me of something annoying but funny that happened to me. There was a ring tone I wanted, and it was available on my providers website for a charge (Not especially cheap either). But every-time I tried to download it into my phone, the program in the phone would repeatedly crash. So no ring tone, but no charge either.. However it was annoying all the same. But like many phones these days, mine can use .WAV's as well. So I took the MP3 sample ring tone off the website I had been trying to purchase the ring tone from, converted it to a WAV, and uploaded it into my phone. Didn't cost a penny. Sorted
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.
