I just got a new iPaq h6300. I think it is the same as the h6315. It has GSM, GPRS, Bluetooth and Wifi. I have looked at the 2 softwares that enables sync with Mac: Pocketmac and Missing Sync and can't deicide which one is better. Seems like Pocketmac was really bad but became great after a recent major update. It also seems to be a more "developed" solution. Missing Sync supposedly has excellent support. So I am torn. They both cost about the same. One thing I am trying to find out is which one of them support syncing over wifi and has better support in dealing with Asian languages (some of my files, contacts contain Chinese characters). Anyone with recent experience with either please tell me about your experience. Thanks.

I bought both. Missing Sync first. Abandoned it for PocketMac, which is great.

Pseudo, I have an iPaq (HP2215) provided to me from work and have wondered the same thing.
Midwinter, why did you fing the Missing Sync so bad that you had to switch to PocketMac? I too am looking for the "right" software to sync to my Powerbook. Thanks.

I had Missing Sync for my Palm and it was great! No problems.

THEN I bought a Microsoft Smartphone and bought PocketMac Smartphone edition and have had noting but problems out of it.

Part of it was that sometimes TMS would connect, sometimes it wouldn't. I'd get lots of doubled appointments and whatnot. PM seems to connect every time perfectly.

The only hitch it that my iPaq seems to sync better with Entourage than with the iApps, (which I like a great deal). I may switch back from entourage at some point. Who knows.

Thanks for the insight.
I'm currently using Entourage (concurrently with the iApps) because Entourage is very poweful but Apple's software is just simpler and easier to use. At least this way I know which program to watch while it syncs. I heard that PM left many traces of its files on the iPaq if uninstalled which worries me a little. But... if it's more reliable than TMS I guess that's the way for me to go. I think I'll give PM a try. I'll post my findings once I get it.
Thanks again for your help.

The current version of PocketMac doesn't let you choose which iCal calendars to sync with - its either all or nothing. The Missing Sync, OTOH, lets you choose which to use.

I, too, went from MissingSynch to PocketMac, primarily because I like having all my mail, contacts, tasks, etc., under one roof (Entourage), and MissingSynch doesn't allow that.

Does anyone know how I can access my AvantGo material on my PDA? I used to have an icon when I was working with PC, but now it's gone. PocketMac DID set me up in AvantGo, so it SHOULD work.

Finally, I installed the excellent Mac-like theme for the PDA. Does anyone know how to changes the test color in the start drop-down menu so I can actually READ the damned thing? Thanks!
