Congrats. I got the speck case for mine. Works well. You can use whatever you need with it. When at the gym or biking, I use the armband. Otherwise I just leave it on my desk or in my pocket. To be honest, I use it more than my iPod these days, except when travelling and at home, cuz of the portability.

I remember the first time that I saw the new mini in stores; I was blown away by it's small size and look. I've never been a fan of the chrome backing on the larger iPods, as they scratch and smear so easily. I've decided though, that it's in my best interest to wait for the next mini's or at least wait for a price drop on current models, whichever comes first.

I don't think a price drop is coming anytime soon, we just got new models AND price drop. I think the new mini's are gonna come way before another new iPod, but I still have no idea when the new mini's will come out.

Why does everybody need a case? I never scratched any of my portable devices ever. And u use them every day of the year. I just put them in my pocket or coat and that's it (I also use that clip thingy you get with the iPod mini).

I don't understand the need for a case either. I keep my iPod in the black case (removed the belt clip) that it came with, or sometimes go without. It hardly scratches at all, and if I want to remove the scratches I'll use Brasso or that Ice-Cream stuff.

Congrats on your mini, Tin-Cup. Is this your first iPod or just first mini?

I let my friend borrow my regular iPod and in an hour she already got a deep scratch near the top of the LCD. Well, lesson learned. But before that I had the iPod for a month and it still looked new. Heck, it still looks new except for that darn scratch !
