I bought a 200GB hard drive to place in an exteral fire wire case.
My thoughts on using it are as follows:
1) Partition drive into 80gb and 120gb sections.
2) Backup my eMac 80GB internal running Panther to the 80GB external partition using Carbon Copy Cloner.
3) Use the 120GB partition for transferring my Mini-DV movies and converting them to DVDs etc. using iMovie/iDVD.

Does anyone see any issues with this plan?
Are there any settings I need be aware of to do this right the first time. i.e. format the drive as Mac OS Extended etc... ?

Thanks,
Bob Y.

You may want to consider two separate drives if you do a lot of DV editing, as that puts the disk through hell. If the disk dies, so does your backup.

I do not like them, Sam I am.
