I'm in the market for a film scanner and am interested in the Nikon Coolscan V ED. Has anyone used this scanner and be willing to share their experiences?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't used the V but I'm presently using a borrowed 4000, an earlier model, and it's a pleasure. Compared to the high-quality flatbed I was using (Microtek 9600), color slide scans are sensational. Digital ICE works great on the Normal setting (I haven't tried GEM or ROC). I've used VueScan, SilverFast, and NikonScan software, and NikonScan has by far the best user interface and documentation.

I haven't tried the Minoltas but I can't say enough about the Nikon and would buy one for myself in a heartbeat.
