Ok I've got myself into a bit of a bind. I'm getting a QuickTake 150 on the cheap that is still fully functional. I'd really like to be able to use it even if only for novelty value with the hardware that I've got. Will the QuickTake drivers and PhotoFlash software work alright on OS9? The only system I've got with serial ports is a beige G3 desktop running OS9. If I had to I could dig out my old OS8 discs and install 8.1 (IIRC) on the G3. Any suggestions?

They should work fine as OS 9 was backwards compatible with 8

I'm wondering only because the QuickTake documentation only mentions System 7.5 as the QuickTake's were discontinued before the release of even OS8. I'm betting the camera will work alright as I seem to recall connecting a QuickTake 100 to a G3 running 8.1 some years ago. I was mostly wondering if anyone had some first-hand experience using QT's with OS8 or OS9.

I had a Quicktake 150 (think I still have it in a box somewhere) and it worked fine with 9. But you need to install the GeoPort drivers for it to work.

Does the Beige G3 have a serial port?

By the way it'a absolutely amazing that the introductory price for the QT150 ($799 IIRC) can get you an 8MP digital camera with all the bells and whistles, just 7 years later.

The Beige G3 has two serial ports. I've had trouble getting the QuickTake software installed. PhotoFlash wants to use a scripting addition it thinks ought to be on the system but isn't. I installed both the serial drivers and GeoPort drivers and it still didn't want to work. Any ideas?
