Anybody know how many feet of firewire you can run for the isight? Like what is the max and still get good quality . Thanks , Tom

Firewire is technically spec'd to 15' max cable length. You can fin longer cables, but they are hard to find, difficult to confirm full compatibility and VERY expensive. What are you trying to do?

Thanks , Darn,I knew someone would ask what I'm doing. Well dumb idea I spose. I was thinking of puting an isight out in my shop as a security camera used with SecuritySpy her in the house on my al 15. It is about 160' to my shop.

Maybe something else? I have cat5 running out there now and also an airport out there and an ibook 600. Thanks , Tom

You can even set this up to watch it over the internet, or just over your LAN (very easily).
