I got my v710 today and the hs820. Im wondering if I can transfer the pictures from the phone to the computer via bluetooth. I don't want to use a card reader. Also can I use the bt head set with ichat. I know other bt headsets can.

3rd does any one know if I can play aac files with it since it can play mpeg4 files and 3gpp what ever the cell phone video file is.

v710.org

in short no to everthing, the only way to transfer pics right now is to use verizon's pix thing or get a transflash memory card. i dont know about ichat, it will only play mp3s and if you want an mp3 to be a ringtone it has to be one min long or less and stored on the phone

As for iChat, every time you use AIM on the phone it counts as a txt message (25 cents). I doubt you could send files through it anyway. Verizon sucks.

Well there is a hack available for windows users. It requires a flash of the phone. It enables bt sync, file transfer, and maintains mp3 utility for ringtones. Hope someone figures out how to port this to a Mac.

Verizon crippled it. What's the point of BT if you strip it back so far?

I know Verizon sucks, but the firmware hack enables all the crippled features. The only problem is that the hack requires windows xp to work. I tried it on VPC, but couldn't get it to work. Anyone know how to port this to a Mac?

Pretty tough in my case, but it is not only that. The install procedure is relatively complicated and requires XP. Oh well

The firmware hack does not enable OBEX. It's a great hack, but it does not fix everything. One thing it adds that I absolutely love is the ability to dial a voice call on my phone from my PDA.

There are people working on the OBEX hack, but they still haven't found it yet.

I agree that OBEX is the gold ring. I did find an XP machine to flash my phone and the hack works great. The one thing it added was the ability to wirelessly sync my contacts using OnSync.

Just switch to Cingular - better coverage, better phones, better rates, and no crippled BT.

See, here's the problem. I live in the middle of nowhere and services other than Verizon are not an option. Thanks though
