I got a Color Laserwriter 12/600 on eBay. The previous owner know very little about it. When I print a page with color (or even a page of color bars), the color is very sharp and vivid on the entire page, except for two 1/2 bands running vertically on the page. Black toner sticks very well anywhere on the page.

What is wrong with it? I have tried putting in a new photoconductor, but no good. Is it my drum? or Fuser?

Check your drum. See if it's dirty. If not, it may need replacing. I'm not an expert on this, but I worked with a guy who was. He usually checked the drum first (probably because it's cheaper).

Yeah, sounds like the drum needs to be replaced. AFAIK that's not cheap and one of the main reasons why those old color lasers are sold, often claiming `I don't know nuthin' about it.'
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
