I just wanted to share this deal thats on until the 26th here in Canada. Staples is selling the Lexmark C510 for $699CDN+tax. It's a 4 pass colour laser with POSTSCRIPT support and an external print server that uses Rendezvous!!! The printer is loud so I've put it in my hallway and the resolution is only 600dpi but the colour is quite accurate and it's a fantastic printer for proofing design work!
In the end I paid $900 and change for the printer and 3 years of onsite warranty.

Golden. It has al the goodies you would expect from a postscript printer all the way down to individual control of the toner, for example, pumping your magenta if to match your screen.. etc.
The print server acts as a web interface for the printer too.. it opens when you hit the utilities button on the print setup box in os x.
I got the last one from the Staples at St. Clair and Keele though, you might want to call around to the downtown locations like King and Yonge. Free delivery too.

That is the one close to my house.
Anywho, my friend just got it he said you can stick more RAM into it for 1200x1200 DPI.
He also said it was loud as hell but you can power it down after 4 min.

It is? Thats right. I think I emailed you a long while ago because you were the only forum member who lived 3 blocks away from me and I was looking for someone to critique some of my school design stuff.
How much did the ram cost and where did he get it and I wonder if I could order it from my old mac store.. hm... okay.. let me know!

I think he got the RAM from Staples also.
Anywho, he had this to say on it:
Toner is a wee expensive, but by my calculations it costs about 20¢ a page for text a bit of graphics and about 50¢ a page for a fair amount of graphics and about a buck for full-on colour coverage per page.
