What is the best way to hook up a GameCube to the new Cinema Displays? I found the Apple DVI to Video Adapter but not sure if it will work. Anyone know anything about this? If it's not possible to hook up a GameCube directly to the Cinema Display, what about hardware and software for the Power Mac G5? I'm thinking something in a PCI slot.

Yes, you can, you only need an Alchemy TV PCI card

It might work, but I've never used it. I've used a s-video to vga converter once to drive a 19" monitor with a dvd player.

That CompUSA link is for a product that lets you output your PowerMac G5's (and only G5s with Apple OEM video cards) video to a TV.

Here is Apple's description of the product in the link above:
The Apple DVI to Video Adapter was designed specifically to allow Power Mac G5 systems users to connect from the DVI port to S-video or Composite video devices such as TVs, VCRs, or overhead projectors with S-Video or RCA (Composite) connectors. The Apple DVI to Video Adapter is designed to work with the DVI port on the Power Mac G5 system only.

It does not have anything to do with the Cinema Displays.

And, by the way, the picture that CompUSA link shows is a picture of the wrong product. The picture shown is actually the Apple DVI to ADC adapter (allows connecting an Apple ADC-based Studio or Cinema Display to a standard DVI port).

what resolution does gaming consoles send out?

When you import the video into the computer, is there any 'lag' or latency?

How would the image scale to full screen on a 23" cinema display?

It is shown on PAL res, so you would get it on NTSC resolution though.

I can not remember any lag playing it, record the signal while is playing is a different thing, then computer's power is really required, that is, 1:2 resolution recording while playing is achiveable on my G3 350 taking care of the codec used.

Oh, would love to be able to answer last question, the display shown is just the 17 inches Apple TFT

I didn use the Nintendo S-Video cable since it is really hard to find one over here, but the Alchemy is S-Video capable, is sports a S-Video input.

No problem about the signal I got on that Apple Studio, so far no pixelated stuff at full screen.
