Since I spoiled myself and got an iPod photo I wanted to get the most bang for my buck...so I wondered, what does everyone REALLY use their iPod for, aside from music (and pictures)? Does anyone use iSync to sync contacts, to do's and calendar to it, turning iPod into a pseudo PDA? I want to know what this baby can do for me! Post purchase reinforcement I guess...:-P

All those other features are cute and all but I just use mine for music.

I might have used mine to transfer files but when they got rid of the standard firewire port on it pretty much killed that idea for me.

i use it mainly for music, although i do keep contacts (phone/address/email) of people on my ipod.

oh yeah .. my list of election info ... propositions ... stuff like that ... on my ipod instead of writing it all in a piece of paper, i typed it up and put it as a text file into the ipod. works great!

Mostly music. I keep it synced with events and contacts books, but I usually use my smartphone for that.
I do find it handy to download driving directions when going somewhere new and installing in the notes area. Same with details when I fly (I fly abroad frequently).
I have a 4G 40Gb with about 30Gb of it with music. I also keep a copy of documents, passwords, receipts, emails, in an encrypted disk on it. And I have backups of my c/v, writing samples, design clips as well as current projects on it. Buying a 60 PhotoPod for the extra room once I sell my current iPod off.

mostly music. but i use the contacts, calendar, and notes a lot. i also use it for flight details. and i backup a lot of my work on my ipod.

i find it quicker to get a note or calendar info off my ipod a lot quicker and easier than my cellphone.

mostly as a portable hard drive these days, for backup purposes. 10% of the time for music while walking to class, and when out in the field i use the calendar and clock features often.

Music (not because I have a huge music collection, but because I hate changing CDs, the lazy butthead I am), and as a backup HD. And I play Brick or Solitaire when I'm bored (Parachute or whatever it's called is too hard on the Select button).

I mostly use mine for music, although I do at times use it to shuttle files around. When my new U2 addition arrives, I'm retiring my 5 gig to an external hard drive to store photos.

I don't have mine YET, but.... music first, photos second... backup space for vital files a close third.

I'll use most of the other features too--having my Contacts with me is a BIG deal. It's all the PDA I need most of the time--I seldom need to input anything new.

1) Music
2) Data
3) Piss off people who don't have other kinds of mp3 players.

You all know its true.
