Hi all ...

Just installed the airport extreme card, and finally got it connected to the home network. Only problem being that it loses all signal strength 8meters away from the Dlink router. Now, when connecting the aerial im not sure as to how far in fact you need to push it in. Currently looking at it i see 2-3mm of metal before the cube metal box thing on the end. (see image below) ..

could this be a problem?? (apologies for poor quality)

if not is there anything else that could be plagueing this connection ?

I can't see the picture you posted, I just get the angelfire logo pic. When you are attaching the antenna to the airport extreme card, it should "click" into place. Don't be afraid to apply some pressure when doing so, but of course be careful There are a lot of reasons why your iBook's reception might not be good. Walls and other obstructions can be an issue as well as electronic interference. If possible try mounting the router on the wall or placing it up high on some furniture.

thanks alot for the quick reply, ill give that pressure another shot - heres the image hosted elsewhere though, hopefully this will work..

really shotty quality, you can sorta make out that the metal cube is not up against the cad, but with 2-3mm of that smaller metal thing .. :s

below is a picture of the antenna in my iBook, it works perfectly this way. It should give you a way to compare what yours looks like
