I have read a few reviews on the mac web sites regarding the EarJams from griffin and how they would be available this sept, in the first week of nov on this site there was a blurb stating they are now shipping. when i called my local computer stores they tell me that they will be arriving some time next year. so what gives do sites review products when they actually dont exist or is griffin just yanking our chain

I was wondering how good they are.
The price is quite competitive, if they were available...

call griffin.
i think i can speak for most, any product they ship is quality. they just seem to do the apple thing, and get all excited, announcing products while some guy is whittling up a concept model in the back room. everyone should have a PowerMateŽ

Griffin is constantly guilty of this.
Someone in another thread said something along the lines of: "this kind of behavior would sink them if their products, once the finally arrive, didn't turn out to be so completely freaking awesome."
I for one, am in complete agreement.
I second the PowerMate too... Coolest. Doodad. Ever

there now saying they have sold 250,000 of them and are getting orders for 10,000 or more a day and so they are only shipping to these customers. so if you want to see one before you buy it at your local store you have to wait till the tens of thousands of people who are ordering daily recive them. then they will ship to the stores ! go figure as anyone actually recived one yet ? all the stores here locally have them backordered since sept. but have not recived shipment, im trying to find out how soft and big they really are as its hard to tell from the pics.

I received mine yesterday.
They do boost the volume and the bass, but unfortunately, they sound muddy. Not sure if it's the earjams or the iPod 'phones, but I definitely like the sound of the Sony MDR-EX71SL better.
I was hoping these would make the original earbuds sound comparable to the Sonys, because I'm not real crazy about the cord configuration on the Sonys, but I will have to stick with them because of the sound. It's really noticeable.
As for comfort, the Sonys get the nod as well. The combination of the earjams with the iPod buds is just too big for my ears. As I was doing an A-B comparison, it wasn't even close.
Of course, sound and comfort are very subjective, so you might feel differently.
But that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

Just got mine today! Unfortunately I'm at work and my iPod's at home so I can't check them out yet. When I do I'll post. Vaporware? I think not....even though I ordered the first day they were available and was notified that they were backordered.

Griffin ships some products ahead of schedule... but they've been known to be late often
Having just bought an iTrip and iBeam, though, I recommend them for quality.

Everything I've ever bought from Griffin (even back in the old days) was well worth what I paid for it, and worth the wait. In terms of Mac support, they're probably one of the best companies going.

I got home last night and couldn't wait to try the EarJams. First let me say that I've never been comfortable with the ear buds. They just didn't feel good and I felt like they were going to fall out all the time. My girlfriend bought me a pair of Senheiser head phones and although they were folding they were still the over the ear type. So....back to the earjams....I snapped them on and fired up my iPod. First thing I had to do was turn off the equalizer which I normally have set on bass boost. These things, because they seal your ear canal, really do pump up the bass. I think they're awesome! For the price I'm very happy. They fit well....almost comfortable even though I haven't worn them for an extended period. I'm going to try the medium sized covers and see if that feels even better. But in my opinion they offer great bang for the buck....and I got a cool little case to carry my earbuds in to boot! Didn't notice the sound to be muddy as did Ryukyu but I also don't have the Sony's that he was comparing them to. All in all I'm pleased.

I received my EarJams last week. Overall, I am pleased. If you're an audiophile of any sort (my other cans are Grados), you're going to be disappointed. The highs and mids seems to get drowned out by the bass and it can sometimes sound as if you're listening to the music through a cardboard tube.
Your ears do adjust, however. Once mine did, I appreciated the impressive bass response and immersive sound imaging. The buds seal your ear canal, somewhat blocking out external noise and improving the listening experience. I also found them more comfortable than the stock apple buds.
For the price, they can't be beat -- although now I can't seem to stop wondering about those Sony's everyone is talking about.
