So I have an older firewire case that uses a Oxford 900 chipset.
I know the 911 chips are better, and I have one of those being used to house a DVDr, but are there any defects or reliablility issues that would prevent me from sticking a 60 gig drive in there and use it as a backup drive?

Does anyone know what the sustained transfer rates of an Oxford 900 chip is and what the average tranfer rate of a 7200RPM HDD are?
