Hello all,

I am trying to set up a Lexmark x73 printer on my iMac G4. It is connected via USB. I already have a laser printer set up on the AirPort network that works fine.

When I go to set up the printer in "Printer Setup Utility," I select the USB option and it says the driver is not installed. Then a popup window comes up and says "New drivers detected, would you like to reload browser?" to which I answer yes and nothing happens. I have also downloaded the driver from Lexmark and installed it. Nevertheless, the problem continues.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm not sure if this will help even a little bit, but try hitting 'cancel' when it asks you to reload the browser, and see if you can pick the printer and driver manually. The 'new drivers detected' dialog box has come up at work a few times recently, an when I clicked 'yes' it didnt do anything, and the printer I was trying to add wasn't even visible as a choice.
