Is it possible to find a Mac compatible external audio interface (like this one) that hooks up with Firewire instead of USB? In terms of audio, I'd like at least 5.1.
Thanks in advance for any help,

I have to ask, though, why? What benefit will it give you over USB? Dolby Digital (AC-3) streams are around 400kbps, and DTS is under 2mbits.. both well under even USB 1.1 spec.
I'd seen those, of course. They're way overkill for my needs.
As for FW over USB, that's just a personal preference of my own. If I can support FW devices over USB, I will. Not if it's overkill in terms of price like that, though.
