Hi,
Thanks for everyone's help with the printers. I think I have narrowed it down to these 2, the i960 and ip4000. According to reviews, it looks like the photo quality of the ip4000 is a bit better than the more expensive ip5000.
I can get the i960 for a total of $110 or the ip4000 for $130.
Please let me know which one you think is better and why.
Can I hook either one of them wirelessly? I know the ip4000 comes in the ip4000r model which has built in wireless g. Some of you have hooked up some printers that don't mention wireless capabilities. Can you please tell me what I would need to do that?
Thanks!!

It all depends on what you need the printer for. The i960 is a dedicated photo printer -- its plain paper printing (e.g. for text and web pages) is substantially slower than that of the iP4000, which is an all-purpose printer that happens to print superb photos. The i960's photos, on the other hand, should be both a bit smoother, and a bit faster. The iP4000 also has the large black cartridge for text printing and the smaller photo black cartridge (the i960 uses only the smaller photo black cartridge).
So basically, if you need an all-purpose printer, go for the iP4000. If you want a printer for mainly just photos, the i960 (or its successor, the iP6000D) would make a better choice.

I have the Pixma 4000 and LOVE it. Interestingly I use it just for photos, just because I already have an Epson I use for text and I haven't bothered to switch anything over.
As Tooki says, the other printer might be a great photo printer (I almost got that one, as a matter of fact) -- but the Pixma is mighty fine. You might want to take a look at the newer Pixma -- I THINK it's the 6000, for list price of $179, which has a little LCD screen that makes it easier to print photos right from the camera.

The 4000 has duplex printing and dual loading trays. I consider duplex printing alone to be worth the extra $15-20, but it doesn't interest some people.

Hi,
Thanks!! I was looking at both the newer ip6000d and ip5000, but in many of the reviews it actually says that the ip4000 may be better. And it is cheaper than both.
Anybody know the answer to the wireless question?
Thanks,
STeve
