hi all,

I did it!
I unplugged one of my CF card without a carefull "Mac Eject" move.
That s the way when you move files from mac to windows to mac to windows to mac and ... oups!
So, I now have an unreadable CF but I need the date from it.
Disk doctor cant see a thing. I do not have (yet) diskwarrior. Is there any other solution?

There are some recovery programs made by the flash card makers that might work. I've never tried any of them.

Since you are using it to transfer files from a PC, I'm assuming it was a Windows-formatted card. As such, Mac utilities don't know how to fix it. (Mind you, throw your Norton Disk Doctor for Mac in the trash before it ruins a working disk!!) Instead, take it to a PC and use Norton Utilities (or equivalent) on Windows to do the repair.

Thanks Tooki

Right -- and the camera (like all digital cameras made in the past 5 years or so) uses Windows format for its digital media. My instructions apply.

There are tons of tools for getting data off corrupted CF cards for PCs, some of them are free. I needed one once and the tool worked perfectly.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

As I said, the makers of CF cards sell such programs, and there are some from third parties, too. I don't know the names of any of them, off the top of my head. Use versiontracker.com and macupdate.com to search for them.
