I am very protective of my Apple machinery - especially devices with hard drives. I'm also very new to iPod. I just bought a 40 gig and LOVE it. My question is, based on your experience, how hard is it to damage the HD in this thing? As hard as it may be to believe, I actually reset/rebooted it by mistake by pressing menu+select while a song was playing. The audio went out and then lines appeared on the screen, then the Apple logo. Is it possible to cause errors/bad sectors to this HD by doing this? Not dropping it aside, how careful do I have to be with this thing? Thanks for your thoughts.

I have never heard of anyone damaging the hard drive. Just rebooting it like that shouldn't cause bad sectors.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
