Let's see what the choices are...
-Apple Mouse
-Bluetake BT500
-MacMice "The Mouse" BT
-Logitech MX900
-Microsoft BT Mouse
-MacAlly BT Mouse Jr
I want a nice BT mouse to go with my Al Powerbook 12". I'm sure a lot of you are in the same position. I want a mouse that is designed to work well for the portable traveler and not a desktop mouse.
Some things I'm looking for in a mouse
-good battery life.
-reliable connectivity
-looks good with the ALBook
-an on/off switch
-has more than one button (sorry Apple)
-not huge size, just right or maybe a bit small for portability.
Ok so let's see here. Scrap the Apple Mouse because it only has one button. Scrap the Logitech and MS mouse because they are too big, officially unsupported and expensive.
That leaves me with the MacAlly, the MacMice, and the Bluetake.
I like the MacMice so far the best because it resembles the Apple mouse the most in terms of size and comfort, has an on/off switch, and just overall seems to be a great mouse. I like the MacAlly mouse because it matches my PB color, is from MacAlly a company which I trust, and is small for good portability. It doesn't have an on/off switch thought which is a big problem. The Bluetake is great because it is small, it appears to be the least expensive of all, has an on/off switch and I only hear good reviews from it. The looks are not appealing bur I heard someone say they have a grey or white color now. (true?)

Mmmmm tasty

The Bluetake doesn't come with a Bluetooth dongle. That's just for size comparison.
I'm really liking all three of them to tell you the truth. Can any of you weight in? Which one would you get for Christmas?

Logitech and Microsoft make the best mouses. Why get something second rate? Personally, I'd love if Logitech came out with a bt-enabled optical TrackMan. BUt until then ...

Yea I'm currently using a Kensington Pocketmouse Pro and while the retractable wire is cool, I don't use it very often and the construction of the mouse is horrible. The scroll wheel makes a horrible noise and isn't even very smooth or accurate at all.
What's wrong the the Macmice, Bluetake and Macally mice? Isn't the Logitech too big for a medium-sized mouse-pad area?

I've contacted ThinkOutside to ask if it was a rebranded BT500, but it's not-- it's an original design.
I myself have the Bluetake BT500 (aka Thermaltake BT500, aka ThinkGeek BT500, aka RadTech BT500), and it's great. The blue is a bit awkward with the Powerbook, but technically, it's a great mouse.

Original design? Thanks for finding that out. It really looks like the radtech / bt500. I wonder if it has an on/off button. Also, another thread that just popped up has the kensington bluetooth mouse...

I haven't heard good things about the MacMice mouse with Bluetooth.
What I heard:
+ 2 buttons
+ scroll wheel
- cheapo feel
- buttons are "noisy" when clicked
- it's from MacMice

There's also a Bluetooth mouse from Targus and I've seen it in stock in Staples. I wasn't tempted enough to try it out, as I couldn't recall having read anything about it elsewhere.
The Logitech V500 looks interesting, although it isn't Bluetooth. It has a scroll "panel" and the RF receiver stores inside the mouse for travel. Staples had that too, for $10 less than the Targus.

I have the wired version of the Kensington and it's one of the best mice I've ever used. I prefer it over my MX700 even though it's corded and has fewer buttons. It's more comfortable and has much better software.
But MS and Logitech also make excellent mice. Don't count them out... I'd take the MacMice one out of consideration first since it's a shoddy thrown-together piece of crap.
