Firewire drive without write permissions?

I have a Powerbook networked to my Cube. The Cube has a firewire 800/400 RAID 1 drive. When I connect via AFP and mount the drive on my Powerbook, I can not drop files for storage. But I can drop files when working on the Cube.

Is there a setting I am missing or permission I need to apply?
