I have a Canon A300 digital camera and want to upgrade the memory card in it. I am completely overwhelmed with all the different choices, sizes, etc. (I'm completely unfamiliar with all of it.) I've searched the forums and haven't yet been able to find any answers. Can someone please help me sort out the differences in cards and make a recommendation regarding my Canon A300?

Thank you

Check your manual - it will tell you. Or head over to www.canon.com and check online. Chances are it takes either Secure Digital or CompactFlash. Canon didn't use much besides those 2.

The Canon A300 uses Compact flash only. I recommend a 256MB module for this camera. Lexar and Sandisk are the best brands. The differences from one card to another come down to capacity and speed. Faster cards will reduce the time between shots if your camera is fast enough to take advantage of them. In your case a regular speed card ought to be just fine. Speed is referred to the same way as with cd burners.. 60x, 80x...etc.. The higher the number the better. Digital camera memory is also known as flash memory. You can look for this memory at just about any Electronics retailer. I recommend Newegg.com, they have great prices.
