I have a kingston data traveller 256MB flash drive. A while ago it was acting strange, taking forever to copy files (even really small ones) and it would also corrupt data on more than one occasion. So I erased the drive hoping it would solve the problem. It did, but now I can't cross platform, which is what I bought this drive for in the first place.

My mac at home recognizes the drive and I can copy stuff to it and transfer it to other macs but when I work on PCs at school they ask me if I want to format the drive.
If I do this will I end up with the same problem I have now, only in reverse?

Is there anyway I can "reset" the drive back to factory settings? I think it came with a CD but I don't have it anymore. Any help would be a blessing.

Use Disk Utilities to reformat the drive in DOS if you want cross-platform compatibility. The DOS format, however, will cause problems with some file transfers (file name issues) and generally runs sluggishly on a Mac.
