Hi all,

I bought a Samsung syncmaster 151s 2 years ago because of all the good review on Samsung LCD. It does its job no problem. However, I don't like it once day one. The texts are great, but the color and brightness/contrast are awful.

The color are way too saturated and harsh. If I turn down the RGB, it leaves a grey film tone. Back to normal (30%-70%), the color is like cartoon. There is NO skin tone color at all, so bad that, I never look at porn from this LCD. ;-)

The brightness/contrast is bad as well. My eyes are very tried from using it. The white is blind bright, the black is ok.

Before you say I should go back to CRT. I am perfectly happy with iBook 500 LCD (made by samsung), of course the color from my Apple 17" CRT is better (black is black, perfect skin tone). But I like using iBook LCD more than Apple CRT, it is way easier on eyes. I could use it 17 hours a day and my eyes are fine. I tried 2 Samsung 151 on 3 PC and 2 Mac with tons of settings, same result.

So, x'mas sale is comming, which 19" LCD will be as good as my 3 years old iBook LCD?? will DVI input help in MacOS and WinXp??

i got a Sony XBrite 17" DVI-- it's fantastic! There are some rebates right now, so you might want to take advantage of those. Although, they do have VGA (non-XBrite versions) -- you may need that for the iBook?

Thanks for the reply, I will shop around to see if any local stock that Sony.

I think I will pick DVI, the color output of my Apple 17 CRT with ADC looks great. I will be using the new display for PC while waiting for the G5 PB.
