Thankfully Apple just openned the iTMS for Canada, and I just purchased some music. I want to transfer the music I purchase to my iPod, but iTunes will not let me manually drag and drop songs to the iPod. All I could find in the support help is that I have to turn on the Automatic Sync'ing of the iPod with the iTunes Library, which I do not want to do. I use my iPod on two different computers and when I first got the iPod, syncing on one computer nukes all the music I had sync'd from another iPod.
When I attempted to enable the sync of the Purchase Music only, I got a warning message saying the music on my iPod will be overwritten if I proceed.
I just want to transfer one or two purchased songs to the iPod, not all of them, any suggestions?

Same person here, different account.
I simply use iTunes as a CD Rip utility, so I have two computers, one at work, one at home, and depending where I am, I might rip a CD on one of the two computers, so I have 2 different sets of music on 2 different computers. I just manually drag and drop the new music I add to each library to my iPod, and all works fine.
Chances are, I will probably start buying music from iTMS from different computers, so I want to do the same thing, drag/transfer INDIVIDUAL songs that I have purchased from the iTMS into my iPod.
It seems currently that the only way I can get purchased music onto my iPod is to Auto Sync with iTunes, but iTunes complains that it will overwrite all music on my iPod and replace it with music currently in the iTunes library.
Can't I just drag and drop purchased music onto my iPod? Is there not any way I can MANUALLY transfer iTMS songs onto my iPod?
Currently I am either looking at making a CD of purchased music and then reripping them into non-DRM files, or simply finding that utility that removes DRM from the iTMS files. I have little patience for poorly written software that does not give you the freedom to do what you want with music you have actually PURCHASED! But I would like to be legit with this stuff.
Thanks for your help

You should be able to leave manual synching on (as opposed to automatic) and drag and drop your ITMS songs to your iPod. I do it all the time without a problem.

I try to do that, but the cursor remains the "no drop" and the songs don't transfer. I found a utility to backup my iPod to my Mac, so I am going to restore the lastest firmware and try again.
