hey quick, I need some advice on which memory card to buy:

SanDisk 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Card ($71)

or

Lexar Media 1GB SD Card (32X) ($86)

there isn't a review for the SanDisk, and the reviews for the Lexar are questionable and vague. the price isn't an issue, just reliability. anyone have any advice?

thanks!

SanDisk and Lexar are both top-grade manufacturers. I would not hesitate to buy either one (and in fact, I have bought both brands before).

SanDisk used to have problems in many pdas. Don't know about the 1GB models. Lexar's are reputed to be solid.
Check out brighthand.com and there should be more info/reviews/user reports on both.

If reliability is big, here are two experiences from my last purchase:

(1) be careful about the media card reader you select. I bought a $20, 6-in-1, taco-stand-media card reader from OfficeMax. Turns out, it didn't play well at all with the 512MB SanDisk Ultra II SD card I later bought. The first time I tried to download pictures onto my Powerbook, it chowed the volume structure on the SD card. I nearly lost an entire evening's worth of Holiday party shots. Which brings me to my second experience:

(2) if you buy a SanDisk card, they give you a URL that gives you a discount on specialized recovery software from LC Technology. It sure saved my a$$.
