So my question is (& I couldnt find anything on the search, please feel free to redirect me) is how do we use 2 ipods with our 1 powerbook?
I have a 40 gig 4th gen (non photo) and I just bought her a mini as a Xmas gift. . Obviously she cant import ALL of our music as its around 25 gigs so will we just have to manually update hers right? Are there any problems with having 2 or I was think we might need to make another user on the PB.
any help would be welcome.
thanks
Kent

I use a script called iTunes Library Manager. It will allow you to keep two seperate Libraries and use the same iTunes Folder. You can get it here:

If you would rather have just one Library you should not have a problem. You can just update the iPod manually. You don't need a script for that.

Make a playlist for each of you, and set each iPod to automatically sync to the corresponding playlist. Then you can each add or remove songs as you see fit, rather than waiting until you've plugged in the iPod to do it manually.
One downside is that you won't receive a warning when you've exceeded the capacity of the iPod until you actually sync the playlist. One way around this is making yet another set of playlists -- "smart" playlists that only take the first xx GB from your favorites...

I have 3 iPods, my g/f's Mini, my Mini and my new iPod photo. I've been keeping the photo auto synced but manually manage the Minis.
Quite easy once you do the initial setup on the Minis.
