how's your luck using ink cartridges?
From my past experiences, they were not good (ink leaking, etc)....
Now i'm reconsidering again for my Epson Stylus Photo R200, because the prices are so drastic.
generic = ~$8
OEM = ~$15
PER cartridge, and there's FOUR.
............ thoughts?

I wouldn't recommend generic ink. I've only had terrible experiences in the past, and others that I know have said the same. If anything happens to your printer as a result of you using generic ink or generic ink cartridges, you can be sure that your printer manufacturer wont be there to help you if you're in need of a new replacement printer.
Some people though, have had success with generic inks, so perhaps for some people it is worth the risk. Just know what you're getting into before you attempt this yourself, and be prepared for the consequenses that can sometimes result from it.

It really depends on the printer. HP's and generics are a very bad mix. Canon and Epson are good, I have never had a problem with generic inks for those brands. I don't like the ink refill kits at all though.

I was going to start a similar thread, since I need ink for my Canon i860. Carrotink looks like a nice deal.

Check Megatoners.com. I use their inks exclusively now on my Epson R200 and have not had a problem as yet. The cost per cartridge is also around $3.75 each and shipping is fast. Hope this helps.

I used Rhinotek inks in two Epson photo inkjets and both had to be abandoned because of clogged nozzles.
Never again.

I have had good luck in ink4art.com and carrotink.com for my Epson 740i and HP PSC 1210 printers respectively.
