In July, I was te 98,300,000th downloader of an iTMS song, and won a free 20GB iPod. Later than month, I bought a PowerBook, and through Cram and Jam got myself a $60 20GB iPod. I had planned to sell them both, but kept them around in case. Recently I decided that an iPod would be great for college life, and figured that I should sell one and keep one. I still haven't made up my mind, and I'm now afraid to open even one of them, for fear that a newer and better iPod will be released in about two weeks.

There's also another problem. You see, I'm growing very fond of the iPod Photo, after seeing it in the store, and realizing it is barely thicker than the 40GB iPod! I don't think that I really need the Photo feature, but the better battery life, album artwork, and color screen make me drool.

I wonder if Apple will come out with color iPod's in two weeks...

Anyone, if you put everything I just said together, what on earth do you think I should do?

I don't want to hear any, "I wish I had your dillema ," though.

Thanks .

Sell one, keep one, forget the photo, no updates.

You realy have issues about that, don't you? Just a little insecure? Almost every post has something about best value, resale, worrying about new models coming up.

My suggestion is sell the iPods you have an buy a photo model. The extra battery life is worth the value alone.

And quit worrying about what's coming around the corner. You used to describe yourself as a power user. Well, being a power user doesn't mean always having the best and most equipment, it means making the most of what you do have.

If you've had an iPod since July and never opened the box, I'd say you've got the willpower to wait another couple of weeks. Sell both iPods anyway, and in 2 weeks time when you have the money from them, buy yourself an iPod photo, whether its updated or not.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

In order of what I would do...

A) Keep one, Sell other, keep $$$ from sale towards next mac (G5? G5 PB?)

B) Sell both, buy new iPod/iPod mini/iPod Photo <--which do you want/need most?

C) Sell both, keep $$$

D) Keep both of them for another 6 months until you can't get $60 for the pair, cry, feel stupid

-If you're going to sell one/both then do it now (you missed the Christmas buyers) before they become old iPods and worth less.

Question: if you were planning to sell them why didn't you sell the first one when you got it, and it was the latest revision, rather than waiting 6 months for it to be a 6-month-old iPod and not worth as much?

E) Keep both of them for 40 years and sell them unopened on eBay as nostalgia items.
