I did several searches but didn't find a thread on this.

I got a new HP all-in-one 5510 to replace my Epson C64 printer. The C64 was connected via USB to my Aiport Extreme base station and would print from any Apple in the house.

When I hooked up the 5510 to the base station and ran the install program it couldn't find the printer! It seems like that should be pretty straightforward. What should I try to solve this problem?

First try fooling around with the Add dialog in Applications --> Utilties Printer Setup Utility (or, in Jaguar, Print Center). At the top, for example, you may want to try selecting “USB”. On the other hand, “HP IP Printing” may be more likely to work. Experiment a little and you'll probably stumble upon the correct setting. That’s my usual method, anyway.

What’s interesting in this case is that whereas your printer is connected to the AEB via USB, it's using Internet Protocol (IP) to communicate wirelessly with your Mac. So it’s kind of both, you know what I mean?
