So according to macresq.com, my 3G (15GB scrollwheel) iPod has a dead logic board ($150).

so that means i've got a nice little LCD screen, a battery that's still holding a good 6-7 hr charge, and an itty-bitty 15GB ATA-5 hard drive. plus, some shiny parts.

so... ideas?

i was thinking a little drive enclosure would be sweet - i could make a "thumb drive" that's 15G and download junk to it all day at work without cluttering up the company's computer.

the toshiba drives that come in the iPod have a female connector. most of the 1.8in enclosures i've found:

here
and here .

have female connectors (they'd need male to match the drive). i can't find an adapter for that anywhere, plus i think space is prob an issue in there.

any other cool ideas for the remains? what can i stick a little LCD on? i mean, besides making a fridge magnet out of it... (which i think would be a cool way to use the front cover, btw).
