I just got my AlchemyTV DVR card and can't seem to get it working. I'm getting the black screen and no audio issue. I've tried the suggestions (in many different combinations) in the support FAQ on the support web site, however, none of those have addressed my issue.

I have removed the software, the card, and reinstalled them as well, but I still have no audio or video. I have tested the cable outlet with a regular TV and it works so it's not an issue with the connection there (reception was fine, no fuzziness).

My computer does appear to meet the minimum requirements (dual G4, 1 GB RAM, OS X 10.3.7). Any thoughts?

Thanks.

That's weird. I hope it's related to the card itself rather than software issue.

Under Apple System Profiler, it said.

Yeah, it's showing up in the System Profiler:
AlchemyTV:

Name: pci5168,214
Type: tv-card

Slot: SLOT-C

Device ID: 0x7133

BTW, how would I check to see if iMovie recognizes it? I also downloaded BTV to test it. BTV recognized the card, but also only had a black screen and no audio. Tried the composite input as well (in case it was the tuner part), but that also resulted in a black screen and no audio (had the VCR hooked up to it).

Thanks for the response......

I find my AlchemyPVR card is one of the most fun things I do with my computer. there email support is fantastic.

le me know the type of setting you are using, etc

if you love it though think about this:

HDTV on your mac:

go here:

http://www.defyne.org/dvb/

http://www.defyne.org/forums and

http://www.dvico.com/products_mul_hd3.html

for about $150 and a PCI powermac you can view HDTV if you live in an area where it is transmitted.

I plan on ordering a card next week
