Id like to be able to share my usb devices between my OSX 10.3 system and XP.

I tried with a Belkin USB Peripheral Switch F1U201... but the hot key doesn't work in OSX 10.3.X so that was a bust.

Before I shell even more money, does anyone know of a device to share JUST the usb devices? I don't need to share the monitor because I have each computer going into a different port on the monitor and switch it there (one in DVI, one in VGA)

Any ideas?

You could just get a cheap KVM switch and use it for its USB features only. IOGear makes such a thing, which works quite well.

You could use a USB/standard Mac keyboard on one system then use KMremoteControl to operate the other systems on your desk. This assumes that you have monitors, for the other systems, on the same desk (i.e., it's a KM switch, not a KVM switch). I use this setup and it works really well.

Hope this helps.

Did you have any luck finding something that works? I'm in a similar situation. I need to get rid of 2 keyboards. My monitors are fine.

Well, I am trying out a IOGear GCS1734. It seems to be working so far.

It's a shame, I'm only using the USB for the keyboard only. There has to be a cheaper way.

I have a pc running windows XP and a powerbook 12inch.

I would like to be able to use my powerbook with my big monitor, full size keyboard and mouse. the powerbook is off to the side, and a real pain to use at my desk (ergonomics wise) so a KVM switch thing would kick ass.

I need it to: Be able to allow me to use my pc monitor/mouse/keyboard with my powerbook. If I could have the kvm thing plug into both and allow me to switch between mac/pc, it would kick some major ass.

anyone have a recommendation for me? preferably works well, reliable, and a decent price point (not made of money)

thanks a bunch
