Hi,

I know that the OWC Mercury enclosures are fairly popular.

I recently got their 3.5" FW400/USB2 enclosure and I have noticed that the unit does not show-up in the firewire section of Apple System Profiler when the enclosure is powered OFF.

I thought this was a little odd, because my other enclosures by MacAlly and Lacie do show-up even when off...

Can anyone with an OWC enclosure report their results...?

This is on a Titanium PB 1Ghz
10.3.6

If they're being recognized by the system, then there is power to the device, whether through the bus or not. Why does it matter?
