The Ball

The World's First Bluetooth Wireless Trackball
Design goal: To build a Bluetooth optical wireless trackball with the same simple elegance as our USB The Mouse, with Apple-like appearance, multi-button functionality, and a world-class Bluetooth wireless system. Reevaluate the idea of 'trackball' and find the most comfortable size and perfect functionality that a large number of discerning computer users will enjoy using.

For People Who Do Not Use Trackballs
As odd as it seems, we designed The Ball specifically for people who do not use trackballs. Most computer users have little or no experience with a trackball. Or, they have tried one of the 'normal' trackballs, and have decided that they prefer using a mouse. Many times, the reason for this decision is that 'normal' trackballs are big, ugly, badly designed products that are irritating to look at and equally irritating to use. In recent years, the trend with trackballs has been a maddening race to add more buttons, more switches, and more features... to ever larger, bulkier products.

Stop The Trackball Craziness
If you happen to like huge, complicated trackballs, you can stop reading now. The Ball is not built for you. We decided that the people adopting Bluetooth wireless desk accessories are more interested in simplicity, comfort, and styling than in having an armory of controls and features to oversee. So, those are the ideas that guided us in designing The Ball. We have chosen not to 'compete' with the existing trackballs, or to compete for existing trackball users. We built a completely new type of trackball for a new generation of users. Welcome to the 'less is more' philosophy, applied to trackballs.

This Is A Truly High Quality Product
The Ball has a clear acrylic top cover that is pivoted at the rear-center, so that the entire top pushes down to the left, or to the right. It has a state of the art 800cpi optical tracking mechanism. The resulting 2-button operation gives plug and play 2-button compatibility with either Mac OS X or Windows XP computers equiped with Bluetooth wireless. The silky-smooth scroll wheel has no 'notches,' and gives the smoothest scrolling feel of any trackball or mouse on the market. And, under the scroll wheel is a third 'button' switch, to activate any special features that are allowed by you computer software.

The Ball is small enough to use with the heel of your hand resting on your desk surface; your hand doesn't have to rest on The Ball, or be suspended up in the air. That makes The Ball extremely comfortable to use. And, when it's time to scroll in a page, you just slip your finger over the top of The Ball, and roll the front-mounted scroll wheel.

The Bottom Line
There are several reasons to consider a trackball over a mouse: comfort, precision, to conserve desk space... the 'look.' If you've been put off by the existing range of complex, bulky trackballs, you owe it to yourself to consider The Ball for your own computer setup.
