Today on access hollywood Lindsay Lohan's sister was interviewed. They asked her what she has been up to lately. She stated she filmed a new commercial for her sister''s doll and a new commercial for the new radio ipod.

Very interesting don't ya think!!!

Definitely interesting news. But now will the tuner be on the flash iPod (where it should be) or only on the expensive HD/jukebox model?

Radio iPod? Radio seems so old-tech for Apple. I mean, for me, my iPod has eliminated the need for radio.

So can you channel news into your brain directly out of the air or do you buy it in daily pre-recorded installments from iTMS? (That's a rhetorical question).

I know the iPod is all about “bringing YOUR music with you”. To me though, it's a pocket music player, and as such should have radio broadcast capability simply because it can. In the future Apple could make the iPod with preference settings that allow the Emergency Broadcast System to automatcially supercede the stored music playback. Some people in middle America might not need that kind of feature, but someone in the DC area (such as myself), NYC, LA, etc might and/or would really appreciate it.

i still carry a small Aiwa CR-LD101 radio for news and talk radio. I dont want to listen to music 24/7. Sometimes i wanna hear discussions on politics etc. If the flash had AM as well as FM .. I'd have a serious reason to pick one up. Good batterylife, AM AND FM, not just FM .. and I'm good for 1.

What did you buy?

(I have a Sony SRF95, very nearly went with the Aiwa CR-LD101)

Am I the only one who thinks Apple putting a radio receiver into the iPod is more believable than using Lindsay Lohan in a commercial? I think that Lohan or her sister are one of those people who generically refer to all MP3 players as "iPods".

iPod Photo 40GB. I'm very happy with it, but it would have been nice to pick up AM radio with it.

No biggie.

looks good ... excruciatingly overpriced. as is the aiwa. if the ipod flash comes with am/fm radio and has decent reception, look for me to find a way to make another "switch"

hope battery is ok as well.

I have an iPod so i don't have to listen to the godawful radio ever. a tuner would just add bulk to the ipod, ad video and a widescreen, that makes more sense
iMac G5 1.8 ghz 20in. 1.5 gigs RAM, 250 gig Harddrive, Fully Wireless
60 Gig Original Overpriced iPod photo
Power Mac G4 450 768 Megs RAM
5 Gig Original iPod (RIP 12-20-04) :(

Portable video? Widescreen? Pocket concession stand?

Personally, I gots no time to sit and watch a video. I bought a radio so that I could listen to it while I do other things. Sometimes I would like to listen to my music, but I shouldn’t have to carry more than one device.

A digital stereo radio receiver should not add any bulk at all. With flash technology taking up less space than a HD, there should be plenty of room left in even the iPod Mini form factor for the tuner.

Maybe Apple will offer seperate devices to meet each of our needs, eh? You could sit and watch yours and I could ride and listen to mine.
