For the record:
Let it be known right now (6.5 hours before the keynote speech) that I am very disenchanted by the rumors of the "iPod Shuffle". The reason I have not bought a HD-based iPod is not that I think that they are too expensive, it is because I am afraid that it will either malfunction or get broken during my intended use of it (listening during the heavy-duty workouts that I do). So a flash-based iPod in the Mini enclosure (including the clickwheel and user interface) is exactly what I wanted (and would still like) to see. I would probably be willing to pay up to $250 for a 2-gig flash-based iPod Mini.
I do not see random play as a worthwhile focus feature. If the only flash-based iPod is this iPod Shuffle that has been described in the rumors, I will probably buy something made by another company instead - ‘Cause the clickwheel and user interface are what makes the iPod special (to me at least).
